103rd Concert Season

Matinée Musicale held the first Members Meeting of the season on Wednesday, September 16th at the home of member Larrie Howard. President Nancy Walker welcomed everyone and introduced some guests and new members.
The concert began with “Three Duets for Violin and Cello, Op. 39” by Reinhold Ernest Gliére, performed by Larrie Howard, violin, and Karen Kruse, cello. Next, pianist Janelle Gelfand joined the group to play the first movement of the “Piano Trio No. 1, Opus 8” by Johannes Brahms. Finally, the trio closed the program with the charming “Two Pieces for Piano Trio” by Astor Pantaleòn Piazzolla.
Many thanks to Donald A. Hurd, Program Chairman, who also served as page-turner. After the meeting, everyone enjoyed a delicious homemade brunch.
