GREENACRES ARTS CENTER

Cincinnati, Ohio 45242

Organ Selections by Donald Hurd

Judy Martin, Matinée Musicale Administrative Director welcomed everyone to this bonus concert at Greenacres Arts Center. Carter Randolph, Greenacres Foundation President, and Jackie Quay, Greenacres Arts Education Director, also spoke.

Nancy Bailey, Matinée Musicale Scholarship Chair, thanked the members of the committee who helped to make the scholarship competition such a success.  Many of the Scholarship winners were in attendance and four of the First Place winners performed, although two who were out of town had their video performances projected on a screen over the stage.  The other winners received their awards and each spoke about their background and hopes for the future.

Mary Pennycuff, Matinée Musicale Membership Chair, talked about the benefits of joining the Club, and Donald Hurd, Matinée Musicale Program Chair, introduced the final performers, Matinée Musicale Club members Janelle Gelfand, piano, and Larrie Howard, violin, with guest cellist Karen Kruse.  Karen Kruse also played a movement of a Shostakovich Cello Sonata with Janelle Gelfand.  Finally, Judy Martin talked about the exciting new season with five outstanding soloists, then invited everyone to a delicious luncheon downstairs.
