Matinée Musicale Cincinnati presented an outstanding program of some of the winners of the 2019 Nancy F. Walker Memorial Scholarships competition at the annual concert and luncheon at Greenacres Arts Center. A total of $50,000, awarded to winners in both vocal and instrumental categories, has been made possible by recent generous donations in memory of Nancy Fuldner Walker and a bequest from the estate of Louise Dieterle Nippert. Judy Martin, Administrative Director of Matinée Musicale, welcomed everyone and thanked the audience for supporting this wonderful organization. Next, Carter Randolph, President of Greenacres Foundation, and Jessica Gray, Director of Greenacres Arts Education, spoke about the Foundation, which was established in 1988 by Louise Dieterle Nippert to reflect her interests in sustainable agriculture, the environment and cultural arts by providing educational opportunities for children of all ages.
Several of the First Place winners performed, followed by a presentation of awards. Mary Pennycuff, Membership Chair of Matinée Musicale, encouraged people to become members of the Matinée Musicale Club. Finally, Judy Martin announced the upcoming 2019-2010 Season and the 5 guest artists who will be performing, plus one optional concert featuring a return engagement of the amazing Pene Pati, tenor.
