Matinée Musicale Club members, friends and subscribers met on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at the Greenacres Arts Center for a delightful concert and luncheon. Club member Donald Hurd played the organ while people entered and socialized in the lobby. Nancy Walker, Matinée Musicale President, welcomed everyone and introduced Mark Ernster, COO of Greenacres Arts Center, and Evans Mirageas, Director of Cincinnati Opera. Then, guest artists from the Cincinnati Opera Nicole Haslett, soprano, and Hadleigh Adams, baritone, accompanied by pianist Carol Walker, presented a short program of operatic arias.
Following the concert, everyone enjoyed a delicious luncheon, courtesy of Matinée Musicale. This was our closing event for a spectacular 103rd season!

Nicole Haslett, soprano, sang “Sul fil d’un soffio etesio” from Verdi’s Falstaff.

Nicole Haslett and Hadleigh Adams also sang duets from “One Hand, One Heart,” from Bernstein’s West Side Story, “Mein Herr Marquis” from Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, Jr., and the “Papageno/Papagena” duet from Mozart’s Die Zauberflote.
