Amit Peled made his third Matinée Musicale appearance yesterday with a different program, “Homage to Casals”, playing on the great cellist Pablo Casals’ revered Goffriller cello, circa 1733, lent to him by Casals’ widow. HIs accompanist, Noreen Cassidy-Polera, is making her debut with us with these two concerts. This recital marks the beginning of Mr. Peled’s tour including 30 cities as his “Homage to Casals”, culminating at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The congenial Mr. Peled spoke to the audience between pieces and he led us in a musical and personal history.
